Images of Citroën's intriguing Revolte Concept car have broken cover ahead of its official debut at the Frankfurt motor show in Germany.
The French carmaker's new concept takes on the proportions of small hatchback and features barn-style (aka suicide) rear doors like the Mazda RX-8.
It shows off a curvaceously futuristic design theme and is expected to be one of Citroën's show stoppers at the German exhibition.
We won't know the full details of the new concept car until it's officially unveiled in Frankfurt, but based on its size and design it could be another model in the French company's DS line, possibly slotting in underneath the Citroën DS3.
The Citroën Revolte Concept has the potential to revive the iconic 2CV nameplate, with some design cues and a silhouette that is -- from certain viewpoints -- reminiscent of the classic Citroen.
Little is known about the car's powertrain, but with a name like Revolte, it is likely to have either a hybrid or full electric propulsion system.
The interior of the Revolte is pure show car, with several conceptual designs, including the steering wheel, dashboard, and couch-like rear seats.
Interestingly, the front passenger seat appears as though it can swivel 180-degrees to face the rear passengers, a design feature which may hold merit for a production version.
Stay tuned for more details directly from the Frankfurt motor show next week.
