The fourth-generation Audi S3 has been captured at a private event more than a month before its official unveiling at the Geneva motor show.
The images, posted by Instagram user Cochespias give us our first look at not only the premium hot hatch but provide us an indication of how the rest of the fourth-generation Audi A3 range will look.
Wrapped in a light camo, the S3 is set to be on sale later this year as a five-door hatch (pictured) and eventually be offered as a four-door sedan and sportier-still five-door liftback that, rumour has it, will be named the 'Sportback'.
Later on, an S3 convertible will join the range, plus the return of the RS 3 performance flagship that will be powered by a 300+kW turbocharged 2.5-litre five-cylinder petrol.
The S3 range, meanwhile, will keep its EA888 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo that will push out at least 220kW, possibly more following a leaked internal document revealed the next closely-related Volkswagen Golf GTI will muster 180kW while the GTI Performance Pack-replacing TCR will generate 221kW.
As well as the sharper styling, the S3 is set to benefit from all-wheel drive as standard, while the A3 range significant tech uplift should see the fast BMW M135i-rival get a full virtual cockpit digital instrument panel, a large new infotainment system and natural-speak voice control that will rid the cabin almost entirely of buttons.
More will be revealed following the leak from Audi itself in the build-up to the S3's launch at the Geneva motor show.
