Trident true? Fiat-owned tuner introduces a sequel to its Ferrari tributeFiat's popular Bambino has lent its loveable form for another tribute from Abarth to an iconic builder of supercars — Maserati.
The Abarth 695 Tributo Maserati is set to follow in the steps of the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari, the first shipment of which took just days to sell out in Australia. According to press material received from the local distributor, the Maserati homage highlights the elegance and luxury of the 'GranTurismo' brand, whereas the Ferrari tribute focused more on the racing exploits and history of the prancing stallion.
499 units of the Tributo Maserati will be built for worldwide consumption. It's not yet confirmed for sale in Australia, but if it is, the car will feature the 1.4-litre turbocharged four-valve engine, developing 134kW and driving through a sequential-shift, electronically controlled manual transmission with shift paddles. Riding on 17-inch 'Neptun' alloy wheels designed by Maserati, the Abarth will also feature Brembo 305mm brake rotors and four-piston calipers.
Only one colour is available, 'Pontevecchio Bordeaux', and the electrically controlled folding fabric roof is grey. Standard features include sand beige Poltrona Frau leather, a premium audio system, carbonfibre trim, xenon headlights, black leather-bound steering wheel, Jaeger instruments, exclusive logos on the headrests, dashboard and centre console.
