British supercar-maker Arash Motor Company has shown off its wild new V8 hybrid-powered AF10, ahead of its world debut at the Geneva motor show next week on March 1.
The new hypercar is said to come with a state-of-the-art hybrid powertrain that uses four electric motors that generate 220KW/220Nm each.
Combined with a supercharged V8 petrol engine that, alone, is said to produce 670kW, the force of all four electric motors help the AF10 produces a mighty total of 1550kW.
This is enough to launch the new supercar to 100km/h in just 2.8 seconds and onto a top speed of 320km/h, says Arash.
The complex hybrid hypercar is said to have not one but five transmissions.
That’s because each electric motor comes with its very own two-speed gearbox, while the powerful V8 engine comes with a six-speed manual or automatic.
It’s not clear how all this works, but Arash says it will reveal all in Geneva.
The car-maker also says it will offer the AF10 without the hybrid powertrain but has yet to confirm the spec for the conventionally powered model.
As well as the complex hybrid powertrain, Arash is also proud of its new lightweight construction. Based around a carbon-fibre monocoque tub, the AF10 also comes with carbon-fibre reinforced body panels.
It’s not known how many of the AF10 Arash plans to build, at a rumoured cost os around $2 million apiece.
