GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Aston DB11 leaked in full

It's been leaked repeatedly and spied several times, and now the all-new Aston Martin DB11 has hit the internet in a range of official shots.

Due to make its world debut at the Geneva motor show tomorrow, the DB11 emerges as a handsome replacement for the DB9 coupe in these images apparently leaked by Carsoops.com.

No interior shots have been leaked ahead of the global premiere, but the all-new British coupe wears an evolutionary exterior design that clearly marks it as the latest DB from Gaydon but modernises it in every way.

There are clear design cues from both the DBX crossover concept, such as the sloping roofline, and the one-off DB10 created for the James Bond movie franchise, including wheels that appear almost identical.

A number of air inlets on the bonnet and front quarters add aggression, while the taut rear-end appears to house a pop-up spoiler and C-shaped tail-lights look like they're inspired by the Vanquish and million-dollar One-77 limited-edition.

Of course, no official details are yet available, but the DB11 will borrow a number of components from Mercedes-AMG as part of Aston's technical tie-up with Daimer, which owns a five per cent stake in the UK sports car maker.

That's expected to include the latest safety, infotainment and ‘virtual dashboard’ systems from Mercedes-Benz and, down the track, a uniquely tuned version of the AMG GT's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8.

However, from launch – as the number plate you see here confirms – the DB11 will be powered exclusively by a V12, expected to be a new 5.2-litre twin-turbo engine developed by Aston.

Delivering about 450kW or 600hp, it will replace the long-serving 6.0-litre atmo V12 that powers the DB9, Vanquish and V12 Vantage. Both the V12 and future V8 engines are expected to be available with six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions.

The DB11 is vitally important for Aston Martin, since it rides on an all-new platform that will underpin all of its future models, including the company's first crossover model, which will be built at a new factory in Wales.

Aston will also expand Gaydon HQ in Warwickshire to produce a range of new sports cars, including the DB11 from around September and the RapidE electric car in coming years.

As part of its Second Century business plan, the company has said it will replace and expand its entire model range within the next five years and grow its maximum annual production capacity to 7000 by 2020.

“The coming years will see Aston Martin transform not only its entire range of models but also its scale and global presence, and the new DB11 will be central to that success," said Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer previously.

First Australian deliveries of the DB11 will take place by the end of this year. Local pricing for the successor to the DB9, which costs $368,500, will be announced at this week's Geneva show.
