News of Audi's all-new baby SUV has been bubbling ever since it confirmed in 2013 that it will release the Q1 in 2016.
Since then it's been spotted numerous times in testing and Audi has convinced Alfa to hand over its Q1 badge for use on the all-new German city-crossover.
As we've reported, Audi has also secured the rights to Alfa's Q4 badge, which will appear on an all-new future mid-size 'SUV-coupe', and Audi is planning yet another all-new baby SUV to eventually slot beneath this year's Q2.
Now the official teaser campaign for the Q2 has begun ahead of its world debut at the Geneva motor show on March 1, as you can see by these three official promotional images.
The first shows a 'reserved' car parking space for the Q2 alongside the Q3, Q5 and Q7, while the other two are front and rear three-quarter shots of the small SUV hidden under a silk cover.
Posted on Audi's official Facebook page, the images were accompanied by an extensive German-language blog about the car's development by Audi marketing team member Steffen Tarashti.
In it, he confirms the Q2 will be revealed at the Swiss show in two weeks before it goes on sale in Europe in the third quarter of 2016. Precise Australian release details are yet to be confirmed, but it could also be on sale here by the end of this year.
No information has been revealed for the Q2, which the images indicate will be a small five-door wagon with a sharp, rising shoulder crease, T-shaped LED running lights, low ride height and 'fast' front and rear windscreens.
Of course, the new Q2 is based on Volkswagen Group's latest MQB component set, which also forms the basis of the Golf 7.
