GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Fittipaldi EF7 teased again
Huge rear spoiler shows off yet more of track-day car’s motorsport-derived aeroPininfarina has teased a new pic of the car it has created in partnership with former Formula 1 champion and Indy 500 winner, Emerson Fittipaldi.
So far we've already seen two snapshots of the Aston Martin Vulcan-rivalling, track-only racer called the Fittipaldi EF7 vision Gran Turismo.
All three images appear to suggest the EF7 Vision will feature advanced aerodynamics that have been derived from motorsport.
According to its creators, powering the ultra-lightweight hypercar is a naturally-aspirated V8 engine that will produce more than 440kW.
According to the Italian design house, the new supercar -- created for wealthy track-day enthusiasts -- will also weigh in at less than 1000kg.
It’s thought the weight-savings will come from basing the track-ready racer-for-the-road on a carbon-fibre monocoque.
Fittipaldi claims his EF7 will be far more cost-effective to drive hard on the track compared to other more mainstream supercars.
“Owner-drivers can expect reliability, lower maintenance cost and minimal mechanic and tech teams – which means more time and elation on the track," said the two-time Indy winner.
The EF7 will be produced as part of a small production run, but it’s not known how much the track-ready supercar will cost.
What has been confirmed is the car will be added virtually to the PlayStation’s Gran Turismo video game.
More will be revealed following its official unveiling at the Geneva motor show in March 7.
