GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Hyundai i20 update
Refreshed styling, added equipment to mark arrival of new Hyundai i20Hyundai has released the first image of its updated i20 hatch, ahead of the model’s world premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show.
Featuring refreshed styling and added equipment, i20 will also be offered with new drivetrain options. These include a 1.1-litre three-cylinder U-II diesel which outputs 55kW while emitting only 84g/km of CO2. It will sit beneath a 1.4-litre 66kW diesel which emits 96g/km of CO2.
Updated i20 is styled with the latest iteration of Hyundai’s fluidic sculpture design language, which includes the company’s corporate hexagonal grille and headlamps, re-profiled front and rear bumpers, new bonnet and new wheel designs.
Expected to arrive in Australia towards the middle of this year (2012) the i20 measures 1710mm wide, 1490mm high and rides on a 2525mm wheelbase. It is just 55mm longer than its predecessor at 3995mm.
