GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Italdesign teases production car

Famous Italian design studio teases two images of the car it says it will make

Italdesign has released a pair of images of an all-new car it plans to reveal at the beginning of March at the Geneva motor show.

Instead of being a one-off concept, according to the Italian design house, the car it will unveil will be ready for a limited production run of five vehicles.

Italdesign hasn't confirmed what its production car will be based on, nor whether if it will come with a traditional powertrain or if it will be a pure-electric vehicle.

It's likely, since Audi owns a majority shareholding in Italdesign, that the production car will be based on a Volkswagen Group platform and use a powertrain from the German car-making giant.

The first teasing image appears to be a hexagonal headlight or fog light, while the second looks like a circular fuel filler or charging point cap.

Italdesign is bound to release yet more teases of its Audi-based production car in the lead-up to the Geneva show.
