German tuner MTM has been making some of the world's fastest sedans and wagons for more than 25 years. To celebrate a quarter of century in the business it has created not one, but three cars for the Geneva motor show.
Most famous for creating the incredible near-400km/h MTM TT Biposto that was based on a first-gen Audi TT, the most striking 25th anniversary model for Geneva was the new MTM Talladega S that originally began life as a standard Audi S8. MTM engineers fettled the standard 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo to produce a mammoth 590kW/945Nm. The power comes from two larger turbos, a new sports exhaust and a revised cooling system. With the extra power the Talladega S can sprint to 100km/h in 3.1 seconds, hit 200km/h in 9.9s, 300km/h in 29 dead and top out at an incredible 350km/h.
Just 25 will be built for an additional $50,000 over the base price of an Audi S68.
Sharing the limelight with the Talladega S on the MTM stand was a 559kw Audi RS6 that had been stripped to MTM Clubsport specification (-80kg). With the added urge the Clubsport is even quicker to 100km/h, taking "less than three seconds." The tuned RS6 also matches the boosted S8's 350km/h top speed.
Finally, MTM also showed its softer side by showcasing an S3 Cabrio that had only been mildly boosted to 313kW/530Nm. The least powerful of the trio can only manage 0-100km/h in five seconds before topping out at an electronically limited 270km/h.
As well as tuning engines MTM also offers styling kits, bespoke interiors and endless personalisation when it comes to exterior colours.
It's unlikely the fully built cars will be homologated for Australia, although the power kits can be bought and added separately.
