GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Rimac to unveil self-driving pure-electric hypercar

Croatian hypercar maker, Rimac, has released a new video that teases the all-new hypercar it will launch at the Geneva motor show in March.

Claimed to blend a hypercar performance with the ability to drive by itself, the car Rimac is believed to unveil at the Swiss show is thought to have been developed to feature Level 4 autonomy which will allow it to drive itself without any input from the driver.

Thought to benefit from the car maker's new 120kWh lithium ion batteries, the Concept_Two is set to have a range of almost 500km.

The pure-electric hypercar is also likely to eclipse the firm's Concept_S for power and torque, meaning it will produce even more than that car's towering 1100kW/1800Nm.

Confirmed to be faster than the Concept_One that needs just 2.6 seconds to hit 100km/h, the Concept_Two will also be both more comfortable and more expensive, meaning it will have an asking price exceeding $1.3 million.

Rimac says it will make just 100 Concept_Twos and sell 20 in the first year of production.

Once launched, it will roll out a track version and spider version over the next few years.

Rimac has a fine reputation outside of its hypercar making business as a supplier of batteries for other car makers.

Currently it supplies lithium ion battery packs for the Koenigsegg Regera and has a contract in place to supply the battery for the forthcoming Aston Martin Valkyrie.
