Swiss auto innovator Rinspeed is taking driving pleasure to new heights with its innovative self-driving concept car, the ‘XchangE’.
The XchangeE is powered by an electric engine and features a radical interior design that will allow passengers to take full advantage of emerging self-driving vehicle technologies.
Head of Rinspeed, Frank Rinderknecht, says such technologies open up new possibilities for passenger entertainment.
“Travelling in a driverless car will no longer require me to stare at the road, but will let me spend my time in a more meaningful way,” he says.
Featuring a steering wheel that can be moved to the centre of the dash and front seats that can rotate to face the rear passengers, the XchangE will allow occupants to watch movies, listen to music, play games and even browse the Internet while travelling in comfort.
Rinspeed will release more information on its XchangE during the upcoming 2014 Geneva Motor Show, to be held in the Swiss city over March 6-16.
