GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Zenvo TSR-S packs 878kW
Street-legal version of Zenvo TSR racer hits 100km/h in 2.8 secondsWe saw the wild Zenvo TS1 GT precisely a year ago and now at today’s Geneva motor show the Danish supercar-maker has unveiled the even more powerful TSR-S.
Based on the original TS1 launched back in 2009, the TSR-S is a street-legal version of the TSR race car, and winds the TS1 GT’s power up from ‘just’ 858kW to an epic 878kW at 8500rpm.
The twin-supercharged (hence the TS name) 5.8-litre V8 also produces more than 1100Nm of torque – enough to push the Zenvo TSR-S to 100km/h in a claimed 2.8 seconds and to 200km/h in just 6.8.
Power is chanelled via a “motorsport-derived” seven-speed paddleshift dogbox and the latest Zenvo features a Centripetal Wing that employs two rotational axes, allowing it to function as an air brake and to deliver cornering downforce via its longitudinal rotation.
“In developing the TSR-S, the utmost dedication and ambition of our team has driven us to achieve unprecedented levels of aerodynamic engineering capability for a road-going car,” said Zenvo founder and chief technical officer, Troels Vollertsen.
“By converging the individual performance characteristics of the exceptional TS1 GT hypercar with the savage TSR track car we have created the ultimate Zenvo.”
Sadly, just five examples of the ultra-limited-edition Zenvo TSR-S will be produced.
