Gordon Murray’s GMA T.33 Spider teased
Open-air supercar from Gordon Murray Automotive loses roof but keeps wild 452kW V12Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) is set to pull the drapes off the convertible version of its GMA T.33 supercar.
Releasing photo teasers and a sketch of the 2023 GMA T.33 Spider it will unwrap late this evening Australian time, the niche British marque has confirmed the drop-top will keep the coupe’s Cosworth-developed 3.9-litre naturally-aspirated V12.
In the coupe, the engine produces 452kW and 470Nm of torque, combining with either a six-speed manual or automated manual transmission.
Based on the sketch, the T.33 Spider looks set to feature completely revised aerodynamics but will keep the roof scoop that feeds cold air to the hungry V12.
TMA has confirmed the Spider will weigh 1108kg, making it just 18kg heavier than the hard-top.
GMA has previously announced that it will produce just 100 coupes, 100 Spiders and 100 examples of a further extreme track-focused T.33.
No pricing indication has been given, but it’s thought the T.33 Spider will command a healthy premium over the sold-out run of T.33 coupes that each were priced from a punchy £1.37 million ($A2.5m).
“From the outset of the T.33 program, I always intended there to be a Spider,” said GMA CEO Gordon Murray.
“In fact, I sketched the Spider before the coupe to ensure the proportions worked. And from that first sketch I knew, with its open cockpit and the incredible Cosworth GMA 2 V12 engine right behind you, the T.33 Spider would deliver a truly involving driving experience that’s quite unlike anything else.”
