Mitsubishi says it has "refreshed" its Grandis line-up with the introduction of a VRX version to the range. The entry model has also been rebadged 'LS' and gets an upgraded audio unit. Prices start at $39,990 for the 'LS' and $43,000 for the VRX.
The VRX Grandis gets its stand-out looks by way of five-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels, unique exterior treatment to the front and rear bumpers, grille and side air dams, chrome exhaust extension and wheel arch flares.
The VRX also features privacy glass for rear passengers, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift lever, leather seats and matching door inserts, chrome inner door handles, alloy pedals, scuff plates and four-sensor rear parking assistance.
VRX is available in four colours: Silver Metallic, Red Metallic, Gunmetal Mica and Black Mica. Choice of colours for the LS model remains unchanged.
Grandis is equipped with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine rated at 120kW/216Nm and mated to a four-speed automatic transmission with tiptronic-style shift. Standard safety equipment includes ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), front, side and curtain airbags, and three-point seat belts in all positions including pre-tensioners and force limiters for the driver and front passenger.
The new Grandis model range is available now from Mitsubishi dealers.
