Green light for yellow Lexus LC
Limited edition of luxury Lexus sports coupe complements previous low-volume batchLexus has announced a new limited-edition model of its LC coupe for the same money as the standard models with enhancement pack.
And in a clear case of yin and yang, this new model is finished in yellow – the colour complement to the blue of the previous limited-edition model.
The colour chosen for this latest edition of Lexus LC is Zinnia Yellow, with coordinating Mikado Alcantara door inserts inside. Semi-aniline white leather upholstery for the seats features yellow stitching. Lexus has also used the contrasting stitch colour for the dash, steering wheel rim and centre console armrest.
Being based on the Lexus LC with enhancement pack, the limited-edition model comes equipped as standard with an a limited-slip differential, an active rear spoiler that lifts at 80km/h, a carbon-fibre roof, heated/ventilated 12-way adjustable sports seats and branded carbon-fibre scuff plates.
"The exquisite quality of the vibrant Zinnia Yellow paint finish shows off the LC's award-winning styling to stunning effect," said Lexus Australia Chief Executive, Scott Thompson.
"Inside the hand-crafted cabin, warm yellow inserts and detail stitching exemplify the Takumi craftsmanship that is a distinguishing feature of Lexus luxury," Thompson was quoted as saying in a press release.
"Drivers of these exclusive new models will also be treated to the full potential of the LC's rigid platform with its excellent balance and low centre of gravity."
The standard Lexus LC models have been subjected to minor running changes also, the manufacturer claiming improved driveability and ride comfort. In addition, the LC is now available in the mainstream range with the Chrysalis Blue interior colour formerly reserved for the earlier 'Morphic blue' limited-edition model.
Lexus is asking $200 more for the upgraded LC models, and the limited-edition Lexus LC costs the same as the variants fitted with the $15,000 enhancement pack.
