Grass-green Porsches, neon-yellow Lamborghinis and even luminous red Ferraris will soon fade away into the background on most streets, as the latest creation from Hamann Motorsport steals the show.
These are the words of German tweaker Hamann, which has conjured up this ultra-distinctive McLaren MP4-12C-based ‘memoR’ that seemingly takes its inspiration from BMW’s Art Cars. However, the Hamann creation isn’t merely an explosion of colour, as the memoR’s bodywork has been modified to resemble the 1995 Le Mans-winning McLaren F1 GTR, with new carbon fenders, cooling vents and an “expressive front apron” replacing the original components.
Hamann says the LED daytime running lights and carbon front spoiler are “particular highlights”, while the newly developed attachments for the side aprons and doors are claimed to “form a visual and aerodynamic link between the vehicle’s axles”.
A carbon bonnet and larger air inlets on the flanks of the car underscore its motorsport inspiration, while the roof scoop, rear wing and rear apron with recesses for the three tailpipes round off the imposing appearance of the memoR.
Complementing the modded bodywork and crazy paintwork is a set of one-piece forged aluminium wheels measuring 9.5x21-inch at the front and 12.5x21-inch at the rear. Wrapped around these are 255/30 ZR 21 tyres at the front and beefy 355/25 ZR 21 gumballs at the rear.
The cabin hasn’t been neglected either, as Hamann offers customers the option of carbon or wood trim and leather or Alcantara upholstery, depending on whether your tastes are sporty or traditional.
Hamann’s upholsterers can even knock out personalised foot mats or a full leather interior, provided your pockets are deep enough.
The basic conversion you see here costs 95,000 euros, and that’s of course on top of the asking price for the donor car.
Any takers...?
