Bentley has begun teasing a faster, sportier and more agile version of its 2026 Bentley Bentayga, which promises to be quicker and more powerful than the old Bentayga Speed.
Set to be unwrapped on June 2, the new flagship luxury SUV has been built to replace the old Bentley Bentayga Speed, which ended production following the axing last year of the twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12.
There’s no word if the new model will still carry the Speed badge, but Bentley has promised the new performance flagship will be the “most emotional and engaging Bentayga to date”.
Revealing it will be powered by a boosted version of the firm’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, which does without the luxury brand’s latest hybrid tech, the hot Rolls-Royce Cullinan alternative has been tipped to out-power the last W12.
Expect a considerable bump on the W12 Speed’s 467kW output, which means it should shave at least two-tenths off the last super SUV’s 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.9 seconds.
Top speed is expected to be in excess of 310km/h, with the big Bentley to come closer than ever before to becoming the world’s first production SUV to be capable of 200mph (321km/h).
From the first teaser video, we can see that the Bentley will feature black badging, an Akrapovic exhaust, and a new diffuser, suggesting revised aerodynamics.
Said to feature a “more extreme Sport calibration with a new ESC Dynamic mode”, the British brand promises the revised system will “permit exhilarating drift angles”, representing the first time Bentley has offered something approaching a drift mode.
More teasers are expected in the coming days.
