Haval Jolion Vanta arrives in Oz

Special-edition Jolion small SUV inherits stylish black-pack touches from larger Haval H6 Vanta

There’s a new flagship model topping the 2022 Haval Jolion range in Australia, with the special-edition Vanta following hard on the heels of the Haval H6 Vanta launched last month.

Carrying the same blacked-out visual cues as its bigger sibling, the 2022 Haval Jolion Vanta is based on the high-spec Jolion Ultra model and will be limited to just 500 units nationally.

The black treatment extends to the 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, lower rear bumper, door trim and fog lamp surround.

The limited-run range-topper also carries a $1495 premium over its donor car, checking into local showrooms at $34,485 drive-away.

The regular range received a $1000 price increase last month, following a similar increase back in October 2021.

Available only in a Mars Red body colour (normally attracting a $495 premium but standard here), the Jolion Vanta’s equipment list mirrors the Ultra’s, with highlights including a panoramic sunroof, head-up display, wireless phone charging, dual LED driver displays and Comfort-Tek leather seat trim.

Safety features on-board include autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian and bicycle detection, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition and a 360-degree camera.

Propulsion comes courtesy of the familiar 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which sends 110kW/210Nm to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

“Given the strong reception of the Haval H6 Vanta, where dealers have experienced cars being sold within minutes of hitting the showroom floor, it is expected that the Jolion Vanta will prove equally popular,” Haval Australia said in a statement.

How much does the 2022 Haval Jolion cost?
Premium – $27,490
Lux – $29,990
Ultra – $32,990
Vanta – $34,485
*All prices are drive-away (including on-road costs)
