High-rise 500

Our heroes don't have to be shrunk by a particle beam emitter to tour the insides of this Fiat 500

It's just like one of those spooky old science fiction films, like 'Fantastic Voyage' or the episode of 'Lost in Space' entitled 'Trip through the Robot'.

The Fiat stand at the Frankfurt motor show is not movie 'magic', however, it's the real deal.

Visitors to the stand can actually drive through a giant Fiat 500, up-scaled by a factor of five from the original.

True scale Fiats ferry passengers around the giant model for a multi-media experience relating the history of the Fiat 500 and the full details of the new model.

The giant 500 is 20 metres long and 15 metres high.  We're hanging out to see the Fiat 500 'tunnel of love' ride here in Australia, but whether it makes the journey or not, the proper scale cars (more here) are definitely going to be here, probably in time for the Melbourne motor show next year.
