Holden has pulled the covers off a new Project Monaro. The hero coupe was officially unveiled this evening, at the brand’s Port Melbourne headquarters by Supercar stalwart and now TV personality, Craig Lowndes.
Project Monaro was devised by Holden to reward Holden service and parts customers.
The donor car was a 2004 Monaro CV8 with a substantial 214,000km under its wheels. Via the project, it was rebuilt and enhanced by Holden affiliates and partners. The result is an enhanced and essentially brand-new Project Monaro.
Project Monaro features a custom PPG paint scheme and under the bonnet is its original LS1 V8, rebuilt and enhanced by Maurice Fabietti of AC Delco Pro Slammer Monaro fame. A US-spec Pontiac GTO exhaust is used and the auto has been rebuilt by FluidDrive. AP Racing brakes and Sachs dampers take care of chassis mods. Holden’s own design department designed bespoke body parts, which in turn were 3D printed by Red Bull HRT partner, HP-EVOK3D.
The build of the project has been documented on Holden’s own YouTube channel.
Holden service and parts customers can go into the running to win Project Monaro by visiting a Holden Dealer Service department or purchasing Holden Genuine or AC Delco parts before March 31, 2020.
