Holden has announced a recall for the 2011/2012 model year JH series Cruze following identification of a malfunction that would reduce braking during the warm-up period.
A supplementary electric vacuum pump may not operate if the engine hasn't reached normal operating temperature. According to Holden, if the pump doesn't work, braking effort may be adversely affected.
Vehicles subject to the recall are the 1.4-litre turbo models (SRI and SRI-V) with six-speed automatic transmission, built between February 22, 2011 and June 8, 2012. The range of VINs (Vehicle Identification Numbers) is 6G1PD5E80BL518864 - 6G1PE6E8XCL661387.
Holden will contact the owners of the vehicles (11,480 sold in Australia) and the owners are invited to contact the nearest Holden dealer for further information, quoting recall number (PRA) 2013/13702.
