Holden Supercars team opens garage

Bathurst 1000-winner Erebus Motorsport has opened its own automotive repair and servicing business at the same workshop in Melbourne where its Holden Commodore ZB Supercars are maintained.

The expansion of its business model is a direct response by Erebus to the difficult economic times triggered by the coronavirus pandemic.

The team, owned by Sydney businesswoman Betty Klimenko, has already drawn plenty of attention this year for its development and manufacture of PPE for medical personnel dealing with COVID-19.

“Finding ways to continue our business and keep as many of our team employed as possible has been at the core of our decisions,” Erebus CEO Barry Ryan said.

“We nutted out a lot of ideas and tried to think outside the box to embark on sustainable projects that we can deliver, and we feel that Erebus Garage is a big step towards doing that.”

Erebus will not only service everyday and performance vehicles, but also offer car customisation services, vehicle builds, restorations and even race car preparation.

“We have some of the country’s best car mechanics, fabricators, designers and race car operators all under one roof, so we know we can provide an excellent service,” said Ryan.

After a three-month break forced by the COVID-19 lockdown, Erebus will focus back on its primary role as a racing team when the Supercars championship resumes at Sydney Motorsport Park in late June.

After one round of the championship team drivers David Reynolds and Anton De Pasquale stand sixth and 20th in the points score.

Reynolds combined with carsales.com.au’s own Luke Youlden to score a dramatic win in the Mount Panorama classic in 2017.

Erebus Garage is located in Dandenong South, in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs.
