A slice of automotive history is going under the hammer this weekend, with ‘The Pink Cadillac’ from Buddy Van Horn’s Hollywood film expected to sell for at least a six-figure sum.
The 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible in question was the star of ‘The Pink Cadillac’ – a 1989 film featuring Clint Eastwood and Bernadette Peters – and Lloyds Auctions is predicting plenty of interest around the iconic pink machine.
The car is left-hand drive, currently located in Wales in the UK and has a little over 60,000 miles on the clock. The 6.4-litre ‘390’ V8 is mated to a four-speed automatic and is good to run on either petrol or LPG.

The six-seater appears to have aged gracefully, although the interior shows expected signs of wear and tear, along with all the markings (and camera mounting brackets) from its time on set.
It also comes with a certificate of authentication from its time on the silver screen.
Said to be the exact car featured in ‘The Pink Cadillac’ as well as many other films, the beautiful classic convertible last sold at auction for €62,100 ($A101,930) in 2014 and is expected to go much higher than that when bidding starts this Saturday, April 27, at 7:00pm (AEST).
“This isn’t just a prop car but an official piece of cinematic history and is still fitted with the original camera mounting brackets used during filming and authentic markings of its time on set,” said Lloyds Auction COO, Lee Hames.
“Lloyds Auctions are excited to be bringing such an iconic classic car to auction and have already received a large amount of interest from around the world.
“Whether you’re a classic car enthusiast, cinema buff or just someone who appreciates cars, you don’t want to miss this.”
At the time of writing, the highest bid for the pink Caddy was at $A8700, which is the headline vehicle at this weekend’s UK Classic, Muscle & Prestige Car auction.
If you miss out on The Pink Cadillac, there's an example for sale on carsales.com.au that's a little less famous, but just as cool, with a gorgeous pink interior.
It's also said to have done some promotional and film work in its time.
