Honda Australia has announced two Limited Edition models based on the Accord and Civic to continue the company's 40th anniversary celebrations. With 2010 model updates due the two new special offers are designed to clear the decks of 2009-plated cars.
Eagle-eyed readers might find this familiar because it is the second Accord 40th Anniversary Limited Edition released by the company this year. In January a very similar limited-run Accord was offered to help clear '08-plated stock.
As with the earlier model Accord LE the latest offer is based on four-cylinder model. The 2.4-litre engine produces 133kW and uses 8.8L/100km (combined cycle) and is coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission.
Bonus equipment for the LE consists of fog lights, deluxe tailored floor mats, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth compatibility and special badges.
Honda is retailing the Accord LE at a driveaway price of $34,990.
The Civic LE is based on the VTi model with 1.8-litre 103kW engine and is available with either a five-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
Fog lights, rear parking sensors, tailored floor mats, chrome exhaust finishers, special badges and 15-inch alloy wheels make up the special additions for the 40th anniversary model.
Prices for the Civic LE start at $24,990 driveaway for the manual without metallic paint.
Honda has only produced 800 examples of each model.
