Honda offers limited edition tax-time twins

Accord and Civic grab more gear in time for the mid-year sales

As the limited edition invasion begins to hit showrooms all over the country, coinciding with the end of the financial year, Honda has announced its own pair of up-spec'ed bargains.

First up, Honda's family-sized Accord delivers a host of cosmetic and equipment additions at a price certain to see the classy sedan find more than a few new homes.

Based on the entry-level Accord VTi, the imaginatively named Accord Limited Edition offers integrated Bluetooth connectivity, rear (acoustic) parking sensors, front fog lamps, tailored floor mats, chrome grille and lower garnish, door protectors and the obligatory 'Limited Edition' badges.

Powered by a (136kW/222Nm) 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, and mated exclusively to a five-speed automatic transmission, the Accord Limited Edition offers impressive fuel economy (8.8L/100km combined) and a high level of standard safety equipment -- including stability control, traction control, anti-lock braking and six airbags -- scoring a maximum possible five-star safety rating in EuroNCAP testing.

In showrooms now, the Honda Accord Limited Edition is priced from just $34,490.

Joining its big brother, the stylish Honda Civic sedan will also receive an equipment injection this month with the popular seller gaining integrated Bluetooth connectivity, 15-inch alloy wheels, rear (acoustic) park assist, front fog lamps, tailored floor mats, a chrome exhaust tip and 'Limited Edition' badging.

The Honda Civic Limited Edition features a (103kW/174Nm) 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine delivering fuel-sipping economy (6.9L/100km combined) while also boasting a respectable level of standard safety equipment to achieve a four-star ANCAP safety rating.

Priced from just $24,990 for five-speed manual models and $27,290 for the five-speed automatic, the Honda Civic Limited Edition models are available now (both the Honda Civic and Honda Accord Limited Edition models attract a $2000 price premium over the models on which they are based).
