Honda's Series II CR-V on sale

2016 model year upgrade for mid-sized SUV sees range expanded and detail cosmetic changes introduced
Honda has announced a new (Series II) model year update for the CR-V medium SUV.
Minor cosmetic changes distinguish the CR-V for the new (2016) model year. These include roof rails for the front-wheel drive models, daytime running lights, a chrome insert for the front grille and chrome door handles for the VTi-S four-wheel drive model. A new colour, Brilliant Sporty Blue, replaces another metallic colour, Twilight Blue.
At entry level, the CR-V gains chrome accents inside, a revised-pattern seat fabric, a new Display Audio system for the entry-level VTi (FWD) variant, daytime running lights, a reversing camera, a cargo blind and a glovebox light.
New to the base-grade (FWD) VTi, the Display Audio system features a seven-inch colour touch screen, AM/FM radio with single-disc CD player, two USB ports, one HDMI port and SIRI eyes-free.
The four-wheel drive VTi-S variant adopts blind spot monitoring, keyless entry/starting, front parking sensors, privacy glass and satellite navigation.
Honda has dropped the front-wheel drive VTi-N model (with standard satellite navigation) and added enhanced VTi-S and VTi-L variants in its place. Both are front-wheel drive models, with automatic transmission only. Over the entry-level VTi model, the VTi-S gains an alarm, electrochromatic mirror, rain-sensing wipers, auto-on/off headlights, dual-zone climate control, chrome exterior door handles, leather gear knob, shift paddles, leather-bound three-spoke steering wheel, blind spot monitoring, keyless entry/starting, front/rear parking sensors, privacy glass and front fog lights. Price for this variant is $33,290 – a $1500 premium over the defunct VTi-N, but without that model's satellite navigation.
The VTi-L is better equipped again, boasting 18-inch alloy wheels, leather seat trim, eight-way electric adjustment with position memory for the driver's seat, four-way power adjustment for front passenger's seat, heated front seats, satellite navigation, electric sunroof, auto-up/down electric windows, active cornering lights, HID headlights with self levelling and headlight washers. Priced at $39,290, the VTi-L is $6000 dearer than the VTi-S and $7500 more than the VTi-N.
According to the importer, the running changes take effect from today. Prices are unchanged for carry-over models, as listed below:
