The Finer Details

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the EV4 GT, but it is the first time we’ve seen it unobscured or officially.

Predictably sitting a little lower than the standard model and wearing the signature GT-spec lime green brake callipers, the all-new electric hot hatch could well be the attainable zero-emission performance car the world has been crying out for.

No concrete details of the vehicle were announced with the quartet of teaser images; Kia instead opted to detail its new GT prototype livery.

“The GT wrap hints at speed, emotion, and imagination while setting the stage for the next chapter of high-performance mobility,” the brand said.

“More than camouflage, the GT Wrap implies a dynamic and ever-evolving design language.”

The Road Ahead

The 2026 Kia EV4 GT will make its global debut next year and will be a shoo-in for the Australian market as the local GT portfolio evolves to welcome the updated EV6 GT and the massive EV9 GT.

With the former anticipated to eclipse the $100,000 mark, the EV4 GT will play a critical role as the entry point to the Korean performance range – alongside the related EV3 GT – similar to the old Cerato GT, albeit with a heap more power and performance.

Odds are the hot electric small car will still cost quite a bit more than the sub-$40,000, 150kW Cerato, however.
