The recently-facelifted Hyundai Santa Fe has been given a seriously sporty once-over in Korea.
Seen here with a Range Rover Velar-inspired colour scheme and fitted with a range of Hyundai N Performance parts, the large seven-seat SUV has never looked sportier – inside and out.
The blinged-up Hyundai Santa Fe gets new-look 21-inch alloy wheels and a more aggressive front bumper. The rear bumper has been restyled as well, plus there’s a bold rear spoiler, carbon mirror covers, side skirts and copper-coloured accents peppered around the car.
Performance brakes have also been added.
The interior of the striking Hyundai Santa Fe gets a few upgrades too with N sport seats up front – complete with carbon backing – and even sports seats in the second row.
There are also loads of carbon accents and suede-like Alcantara upholstery throughout the cabin.
The N-fettled Santa Fe show car was pieced together in order to gauge public response to the sporty new look, with an eye towards offering the body work upgrades through its parts catalogue at a later date, and Hyundai Australia is keen to offer N Performance parts to its customers in Down Under.
In fact, Hyundai Australia has been eyeing off N Performance parts for a couple of years now and has made no secret of its desire to offer a full range of high-performance mechanical and cosmetic upgrades locally.
“The Santa Fe N Performance parts are not yet available to the public. If they were to go into production we would be very keen to bring them to Australia,” said Hyundai Australia marketing senior manager, Guido Schenken.
“In fact, we would be aiming to get a full range of N Performance upgrades for all models,” he added.
Hyundai will also soon reveal its first high-performance SUV, the Hyundai Kona N, which will be the first in a range of new hotted-up SUVs from its N sub-brand.
Even the gargantuan eight-seat Hyundai Palisade large SUV – which is coming to Australia later this year – will be given the hard-core Hyundai N makeover.
As with BMW’s M Performance parts, the idea of N Performance parts is to offer sporty customisation options to owners who may not want (or be able to afford) full-blown N vehicles.
