The team at Hot Wheels has been working away at transforming the unique and futuristic Tesla Cybertruck into two small-scale, remote-control vehicles. A Hot Wheels track-compatible 1:64 scale model as well as a limited-edition hobby grade 1:10 scale model.
Just like the real deal, these scale model Cybertrucks are online order only with the 1:64 scale Cybertruck going for $20 while the limited edition 1:10 scale Cybertruck listed for $400 is already sold out!
According to the official Hot Wheel website: “Every functioning detail will blow your mind and put you ‘behind the wheel’ of this science fiction-inspired, hobby grade-radio-controlled vehicle that is off-road and rugged terrain capable. So, buckle up and kick it into Chill or Sport mode to go up to 250mph scale speed with its all-wheel drive with proportional steering to grip the tarmac and hug every curve. The Tonneau “vault” cover opens to reveal interior details true to its life-size inspiration.”
Four days after the axe-shaped Tesla Cybertruck made its rockstar debut in Los Angeles in November 2019, some people were expecting Tesla CEO Elon Musk to own up to an elaborate hoax and reveal the real deal on Twitter.
Although it is an oddly unique looking machine and looks more like something we prepared earlier in a high school metalwork class, the Cybertruck has succeeded in inspiring and excited many people across the globe. Tesla had received 146,000 Cybertruck reservations less than 48 hours after its reveal, giving the US EV-maker an instant $US14.6 million cash injection.
The Hot Wheels remote controlled versions are expected to ship in December 2020, a year earlier than the real deal. Unfortunately, shipping to countries other than the US and Canada is not available. But if you’re a Tesla or Hot Wheels fan, we are sure you’ll find a way to add one to your collection.
