It's not only the FPV Cobra that has broken cover. Ford's go-fast arm FPV will also unveil its much talked about performance Territory at Sydney's Australian International Motor Show next week.
Dubbed the F6 X, FPV's Territory-based SUV is set for a 2008 on-sale. As predicted by the Carsales Network (more here), it features the full-house 270kW/550Nm turbo petrol six from the FPV Tornado and Typhoon models. It will be offered in six-speed auto and all-wheel drive form only.
FPV will not officially comment on the F6 X or Cobra (see separate story here). However, initial details released earlier this week ahead of the Australian International Motor Show embargo say the car features unique six-piston Brembo brakes and a new firmer suspension set-up
In-your-face badging, alloy side steps, a rear spoiler and special polished 18-inch five-spoke alloys will set the F6 X apart from the Turbo Territory on which it is based. We understand the car also features a re-trimmed two-tone leather interior.
Other model-specific treatments include metalized front and rear 'skid' plates, mirror scalps and bonnet scoop detailing.
With the on-sale date of the F6 X still some months away, no official pricing has been released (or leaked!). Reports indicate the fastest Territory will be FPV's most expensive model at around $75,000 -- $3000 (approx) more than the range-topping Force 8 sedan.
