A new study conducted by Monash University's Accident Research Centre sets out to better understand aggressive and vengeful driving behaviours on the road.
The anonymous online survey is aimed at anyone over the age of 18 with a current driver's licence that has driven within the past year.
Participants are asked to rank how upset they are likely to feel when incidents occur such as someone pulling out in front of you without looking, another driver causing a near miss with your vehicle and another driver speeding up when you are attempting to overtake them.
Another portion of the survey asks you to identify how often you roll down the window to communicate your anger, make negative comments about another driver aloud or try to scare another driver.
And, although unlikely for most people, it's not unheard of that some might try to get out of the car to have a physical fight – so that's thrown in there for good measure.
When asked what you would do if rubbish thrown from another vehicles hits yours, multiple choice answers include: throw rubbish back, give the driver an obscene gesture, honk your horn or do nothing.
Similarly, what you would do if a vehicle was driving behind you with its high beams on at night begs a similar response.
Let us know if you or someone you know has been the victim of aggressive or vengeful driving in the comments below.
