HSV has today announced the Aussie output figures for its flagship Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
The locally-converted muscle-car will make 477kW at 6400rpm and 881Nm from 3600rpm courtesy of its 6.2-litre supercharged LT4 V8. The Aussie tuning house says both six-speed manual and 10-speed automatic variants will be available from the get-go.
The company recently received full certification for its ZL1 range which will go on sale from June.
Manual versions feature rev-matching technology, launch control, magnetic ride control dampers, an electronically-controlled limited slip differential and six-piston Brembo brakes, along with 20-inch alloy wheels and a bi-modal exhaust.
Priced from $159,990 (plus on-road costs), the ‘base spec’ Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is also fitted with Recaro sports seats, a suede flat-bottom steering wheel and alloy pedals.
Automatic variants add paddle shifters and line-lock and lift-foot gear hold functionality. Pricing starts at $162,190 (plus ORCs) with metallic paint adding $850 across the range.
HSV says the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is one of the most advanced sports coupes in the world and promises unprecedented levels of technology, refinement, track capability and straight-line acceleration.
"As a brand synonymous with higher performance, these numbers are sure to inspire GM, HSV and performance enthusiasts alike," said HSV managing director, Tim Jackson.
"It truly is an exceptional vehicle and all at HSV are excited that production has finally begun."
