Alpine has teamed up with students at the European Institute of Design (IED) to create a wild new concept for a hydrogen-fuelled supercar that will be unwrapped on March 18.
Named the Alpine A4810, the French sports car-maker will officially unwrap the new concept in Turin, Italy, with the supercar set to be part of the students' thesis.
Receiving full backing from Alpine's design team, the two-seater is said to have been created to be "an answer to the new concept of sportiness".
Others are suggesting the latest concept could provide clues on how the Renault-owned brand will evolve its design from the current Alpine A110 to its future SUVs and sports cars that are in the pipeline.
The shadowy preview shows off the front-end's quad headlights, illuminated badge and dominating W-shaped LED light bar.
Looking heavily inspired by a Le Mans prototype racer, the large front splitter, wide wheel-arches, dorsal fin and front air intake suggest the concept could be either a race car or a supercar.
Beneath the skin, it's not known if the Alpine-IED concept uses a hydrogen fuel-cell or burns the zero-emissions fuel using a highly modified combustion engine like the recent Toyota-Lexus tech.
Alpine has already announced that it will become an all-electric brand by 2026. On the way is an Alpine derivative of the incoming Renault 5 that will be named the Alpine A5.
The Alpine GT X-One SUV, plus a zero-emissions follow-up to the Alpine A110 sports car, are also in the works.
