Hyper Blue for Subaru

New bright blue hue will be limited to 250 WRXs, 50 STIs and 50 BRZs

Subaru Australia will release new limited-edition versions of its WRX, STI and BRZ sports cars wearing a new Hyper Blue paint colour (shown here on overseas vehicles).

Available in showrooms from October 1, just 200 examples of the WRX Premium auto will be offered, alongside 50 WRX STI Premium manuals and 50 BRZ manuals and automatics fitted with the option pack comprising heated and Alcantara/leather-trimmed seats.

Pricing is yet to be confirmed but will be announced ahead of the October release.

“This will be a rare opportunity for 300 buyers to purchase a Subaru in a very distinctive hue," said Subaru Australia managing director Nick Senior.

“We feel that like many other of our special-edition colours in the past, these vehicles will be keenly sought after in the years to come.

“There’s always massive interest in our sports special-edition versions. Combine that with their proven track record of excellent retained value, and you have every reason to get the blues."

“The fun factor is always high with BRZ and WRX. These specials amp it up with a head-turning colour scheme that only adds to their appeal.”

Subaru Australia says combined sales of the WRX and WRX STI – at 1936 to the end of July this year, which is 7.7 per cent up year-to-date – make the latest models as popular as their original predecessors were in their late 1990s heyday.
