Hyundai Accent adds turbodiesel variant

Common-rail turbodiesel engine added to Hyundai Accent's local line-up

Adding to Hyundai Accent’s current petrol-powered sedan and hatch range is an all-new CRDi (diesel) variant.

Brining even greater levels of fuel economy to the small car set, Accent Active CRDi also claims the title of Australia’s most affordable diesel passenger car, Hyundai says.

Priced from $19,490 (MRLP), Accent Active CDRi features Hyundai’s new U-II 1.6-litre variable geometry turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine outputting 94kW/240Nm. Fuel consumption averages are claimed at 4.4L/100km for the manual sedan; however a four-speed automatic version is also available from $21,490.

Like all Accent models, the diesel-powered version is offered with a full complement of safety equipment, including stability control anti-lock brakes and six airbags. Hyundai Accent achieves a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
