Hyundai i30 Sedan N-Line leaked ahead of launch

New compact sports sedan looks almost identical to its N Performance big brother, just without the power and red bits

The final piece to the facelifted 2024 Hyundai i30 Sedan puzzle, the N-Line, has just been unmasked ahead of time via a pair of leaked images posted to the Autospy network this week.

In classic N-Line form, the Korean brand’s semi-skim compact sports sedan adopts many of the key design elements of the flagship N Performance variant, so much so the two models could be mistaken for one another.

The previous (current) i30 sedan variants were easy to tell apart, with the standard, N-Line and N versions all featuring their own distinct designs while still clearly being related.

The facelift changes all this with both the N-Line and full-fat N wearing essentially the same front fascia and flaunting suitably sporty body kits, however, those who know what they’re looking at will still be able to pick out the N by its red exterior trim, more aggressive 19-inch alloys and red brake callipers.

Things aren’t so similar at the rear, where the N-Line has retained its contrasting lip spoiler and dual exhaust outlets, leaving the N to continue as the only version featuring a fixed rear wing and twin exhaust cannons.

Hyundai is yet to debut the new N-Line officially in any market, but odds are that will happen sooner rather than later now the design has been outed – and the fact the garden-variety and N versions of the updated i30 sedan have already been shown.

carsales understands the entirety of the facelifted i30 sedan line-up will arrive Down Under later this year, in tandem with the updated i30 N hatch.

The bulk of the powertrains – 2.0-litre four-cylinder (117kW/191Nm), 1.6-litre turbo-petrol (150kW/265Nm) and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol (206kW/392Nm) – are likely to be carried over unchanged from the pre-facelift versions.

New to Australia, however, will be 1.6-litre turbo-petrol/hybrid option good for around 104kW/265Nm and claimed fuel consumption of 4.7L/100km on the combined cycle, meaning Hyundai will finally be tooled up to tackle the best-selling Toyota Corolla head-on.
