A hotly-anticipated production version of the wild Hyundai N Vision 74 concept has moved a step closer this week with a new report out of South Korea claiming the zero-emissions supercar will hit the road in 2026.
That’s the good news. The not-so-good news is that the 2026 Hyundai N74 will be a special-edition model limited to 100 units, according to the report.
The intel comes courtesy of ET News, which appears to have intimate knowledge of both the production run and production-spec vehicles.
The report claims that about 70 of the retro-inspired coupes will be produced for the public while the remainder will be retained for racing at “famous motorsports competitions” in North America and Europe.
What’s more, the production-spec N Vision 74 will reportedly develop close to 600kW instead of the concept’s 500kW, and while there’s been no mention of a torque figure, we’re expecting an increase over the show car’s 900Nm.
Acceleration from 0-100km/h is said to take just 3.0 seconds, which would make the road-going N Vision 74 even faster than the inbound Hyundai IONIQ 5 N (3.4s) and a genuine rival for heavyweights like the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, Tesla Model S Plaid and any other EV this side of a Rimac Nevera.
A local trademark application uncovered by carsales in September revealed the 2026 production car will more than likely be known as the ‘Hyundai N74’ when it rolls off the assembly line – a reference to the 1974 Hyundai Pony from which its design takes inspiration, and the obvious links with the N Performance division.
The N Vision 74 rides on a modified Kia Stinger platform and features a ground-breaking hybrid powertrain featuring both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell electric (FCEV) technology.
Drive is provided exclusively to the rear wheels by a pair of axle-mounted e-motors that draw current from a 62.4kWh lithium-ion battery in low-speed and urban applications, while the fuel-cell system (which combines with a small hydrogen fuel tank) kicks in at higher speeds.
The combined driving range is said to be more than 600km.
