Hyundai has issued its second safety recall notice in a little over a week -- but only its second this year -- following last week's recall of the previous-generation i30 and Elantra, this time for the Sonata sedan launched in February.
According to the Korean car-maker, incorrect fitment of brake tubing or seal ring on the brake booster system "may increase the risk of the vehicle's braking not performing correctly during the activation of electronic stability control (ESC).
"This may pose an increased hazard to the driver and other road users."
Affected vehicles – numbering 2044 in total -- were produced between July 10, 2014 and May 30, this year, with the vehicle identification numbers (VINs) ranging between KMHE341BMFA045604 and KMHE241FMFA142833.
Their owners will receive a letter from Hyundai Australia, asking them to bring their vehicles to an authourised Hyundai dealership for inspection and, if required, rectification.
