Hyundai releases Series II update for ix35

Pricing announced for small SUV, now boasting improved petrol engines
Hyundai's revised ix35 SUV is now on sale in Australia.
Featuring upgraded direct-injected petrol engines, the improved ix35 also gains suspension tweaks for a better match to the Australian driving environment.
As we reported from the Geneva motor show in March, the 'Nu' family of petrol engines replaces the previous (port injected) Theta series, but the R-Series diesel engine – in 2.0-litre capacity for the ix35 – carries over without change.
Peak power and torque figures for the 2.0-litre petrol four-cylinder are 122kW and 205Nm. In contrast, the 2.4-litre engine produces 136kW and 240Nm. Fuel consumption for automatic variants is 8.4L/100km for the 2.0-litre and 9.8L/100km for the 2.4. The manual ix35 Active uses 8.2L/100km of fuel in the official combined-cycle test. Both manual and automatic transmissions are six-speeders.
Cosmetic changes include new designs of alloy wheel in 17 or 18-inch diameter, redesigned headlight clusters and, now standard across the range, metal-effect roof rails. Rear seats now offer recline adjustment and the entry-level ix35 Active models gain a new fabric for the seat upholstery. For ix35 Elite and Highlander models, front and rear door cappings are now finished in a soft-touch material.
Built in Europe, the ix35 SE continues in the range, benefiting from the 2.0-litre Nu engine upgrade, the facelift and new 17-inch alloys. The price has risen by $1000 for each of the SE variants, while pricing is unchanged for the ix35 Active. Other prices have risen by $300 for the Elite variants, $500 for the petrol (2.4) Highlander and $300 for the diesel Highlander.
