Hyundai Motor America has revealed a second Santa Fe-based concept for the SEMA aftermarket show in Las Vegas on November 1.
Built in conjunction with Rockstar Performance Garage, the wildest Santa Fe we've ever seen is claimed to be capable of serious off-roading thanks to a mammoth chassis overhaul including KING suspension.
But its centrepiece is a nitrous-powered version of Hyundai's 3.3-litre Lambda V6, which is unavailable in Australia.
Unlike the 776kW 3.8-litre V6-powered Santa Fe concept already revealed ahead of SEMA, no performance outputs have been provided for this all-wheel drive Santa Fe show car.
However, key upgrades include a nitrous-oxide injection system, AEM cold air intake, Magnaflow custom exhaust and Mishimoto cooling system.
Chassis tweaks extends to R1 brakes comprising six-piston front and four-piston rear stoppers, 2.0 KING front coil-overs, 2.5 KING rear shocks with finned reservoir ,17-inch off-road KMC XD 301 Turbine bead-lock wheels with Mickey Thompson Baja Claw 35-inch off-road tyres and a custom suspension set-up with new tie-rods and control arms.
Other bling includes Nology high-performance wires, Odyssey batteries, Nitro Gear gears, KICKER audio system, WARN winch, rock sliders and bumpers, custom roof rack, headlights and tail-lights, Bulldog LED lighting and a Roadwire custom leather interior.
“Rockstar conveys its endless brand energy in everything we do,” said Nick Ashby, lead developer of the Rockstar Santa Fe Concept.
“Our Rockstar Santa Fe Concept is simultaneously all-show and all-go, a non-compromising concept with tremendous capabilities and a confident demeanour to match."
