Hyundai Australia has announced an influx of new Hyundai Staria Load stock, with more than 940 vehicles readily available at dealers and a further 210 awaiting distribution at the time of writing.
The brand says it’s been working to secure better supply of its new-generation delivery van for a while now as it looks to secure a bigger slice of the market by stealing sales from the Toyota HiAce.
Official communications from Hyundai draw direct comparisons between the 2024 Hyundai Staria Load and the segment-leading HiAce, both in terms of their specs and delivery times, with the former available for immediate delivery and the latter facing “extended wait times” (in Hyundai’s words).
The Korean brand is piggybacking off this advantage with a reduced drive-away price of $49,490 for two-seater versions of the Staria Load until the end of June, instead of the usual $46,240 plus on-roads, saving buyers in some states upwards of $1400.
Five new accessory packs have also been added to the catalogue to streamline the purchasing process, depending on the trade or field the vehicles will be used in: cargo pack, courier pack, full technician pack, interior pack and interior pack plus.
It’s unlikely the Staria Load will overhaul the HiAce on the sales chart, given it currently accounts for 14.2 per cent of the segment whereas the Toyota boasts a 47.1 per cent stranglehold, equating to 802 sales for the former and 2660 for the latter in the first three months of this year.
