Hyundai has shocked show-goers at this year's Busan motor show in South Korea by unveiling an all-new concept for a full-size SUV.
Called the HDC-2 Grandmaster, the flagship SUV is rumoured to preview a real production car due in 2019/2020.
Set to be developed side-by-side with sister brand Kia's equally gargantuan Telluride SUV, the big Hyundai will be based on a stretched and widened Sorento platform, incorporate three rows of seating and boast proportions that will dwarf Toyota's current LandCruiser.
Featuring a second application of Hyundai's updated 'Sensuous Sportiness' design language that was introduced on the Le Fil Rouge (HDC-1) concept unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March, the SUV shares that car's full-length 'Cascade' grille that now incorporates the headlights.
Other highlights of the design include huge brushed stainless steel bash-plates and side steps that run the entire length of the car.
The Grandmaster is likely to be developed with Hyundai's next-gen plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it's not yet known if the Korean car-maker will engineer the production version for right-hand drive markets.
