The 2018 facelift of the Hyundai Accent Sport is subtle, but it does introduce new colours to the range and incorporates an upgraded infotainment system for the redesigned interior.
Best news of all, there's no extra cost asked for the latest model.
The cosmetic changes are limited to headlight bezels, new grille with mesh insert and a matching lower grille, and four new colours – Chalk White, Lake Silver, Pulse Red and Blue Lagoon – join the carry-over colours of Phantom Black and Sunflower.
A new typeface is introduced for the major instruments (speedometer and tachometer) and the tacho's redline embraces new graphics. Other changes to the cabin include the new four-speaker audio system, with its five-inch touch-screen interface, Aux and USB ports, Bluetooth with music streaming and Apple CarPlay functionality.
In addition to the new infotainment system, standard equipment for the Accent Sport comprises six airbags, cruise control, electric windows, height adjustment for the driver's seat, trip computer and air conditioning.
Available in both hatch and sedan styles – both variants riding on 16-inch alloy wheels – the Accent Sport remains powered by the 1.6-litre direct-injection four-cylinder engine, producing 103kW and 167Nm.
"Accent has never been such great value-for-money and stands as an impressive entry-point car to a great range of vehicles, all highlighted by local suspension development work enhancing ride and handling and underscored by a great five-year warranty," says Hyundai Australia COO, Scott Grant.
Prices continue to be $15,490 for the six-speed manual variant, and $17,490 for the six-speed auto, for either sedan or hatch. Metallic/mica paint is a $495 option. Fixed-price servicing costs $245 over every 12 months/15,000km, other than the 48-month/60,000km major service, which costs $345.
