Hyundai Veloster N Performance Concept revealed
New concept builds on Veloster N, to be shown at SEMAThe Hyundai Veloster N Performance Concept has been unveiled overnight ahead of its debut at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas next month.
Building on the existing Hyundai Veloster N that is not sold in Australia, where the second-generation Veloster was launched last month, the N Performance Concept essentially boasts what the aftermarket industry is capable of doing to the flagship performance model.
The N Performance Concept rides on 19-inch OZ forged wheels and Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres, along with Extreme Racing coil-over suspension, H&R springs and Daewon Steel anti-roll bars front and rear.
Additional front, centre and rear chassis braces bring greater torsional rigidity, while stopping power is bolstered with the addition of 380mm front discs with six-piston callipers and 360mm rear discs clamped by four-piston callipers.
What remains unchanged is the Veloster N’s 2.0-litre turbo-four, which is still advertised with carryover 205kW/353Nm outputs in this capacity but is now amplified courtesy of a Capriso cat-back exhaust system.
The underbody changes are complemented by a more aggressive exterior finish headed by a new vented bonnet, new front splitter and grille design and new rear spoiler and diffuser.
The same theme manifests inside thanks to Sabelt carbon-fibre front seats adorned in leather and fake suede, a red starter button and aluminium gear knob, and lashings of orange and fake suede dotted around the cabin.
