This small kid-sized EV is a mini-me version of the 45 EV concept Hyundai presented back 2019 which is being touted as a goer in terms of their new IONIQ EV subbrand. With kids more likely to adopt new technology than adults, Hyundai could be potentially tapping into future EV customers with this electrified fun-sized ride.
According to Hyundai, their designers adapted the ‘kinetic cube lamp’ design of 45 along with its angular yet smooth profile to create the yet-to-be-named kid-sized EV which has been presented in a Performance Blue exterior colour with orange accents.
The small EV is 1380mm long and 810mm wide, so it can probably seat kids and kids at heart comfortably for short journeys around the playground or backyard.
The one-seater has an electric battery paired with two DC motors that push the small car to a top speed of 7 km/h with just over 1 horsepower at the ready. It's not the fastest kid-sized car we’ve covered, that honour goes to the Bugatti Baby II which can reach up to 70 km/h.
In keeping with the 45’s design mantra, Hyundai has decided to build the small EV out of wood. It is basically a modern electric-powered soapbox racer. The vehicle comes with working lights and push-button start as well
More details about this kid-sized EV are expected to be revealed soon, potentially just in time for Christmas.
