Inaugural auction at Brisbane Motor Show

Shannons is heading north to launch a third annual motor show auction

Specialist motor vehicle auctioneer Shannons will run an auction at the Brisbane Motor Show in February next year. The company has been selling classic and collectible cars at motor show auctions in Melbourne and Sydney over the past decade but the February auction is the first in the Sunshine state.

Shannons, with an existing client base in Queensland for the company's insurance and auction services, anticipates that the Brisbane Motor Show auction will be a regular event each year from 2008, joining the other two major national auctions.

As for the Sydney and Melbourne auctions, the Brisbane event will take place on the last day of the motor show, February 10. Shannons expects the auction catalogue to comprise up to 30 cars and a selection of memorabilia and heritage registration plates.

At the Sydney auction last month, vendors sold $3.75 million for vehicles, plates and other collectibles.
