Inaugural carsales Melbourne EV Show is go

Australia’s number one automotive website announced as naming rights partner of Melbourne’s first national electric vehicle exhibition

carsales will be the naming rights partner of the inaugural Melbourne EV Show, to be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre over September 22-24.

Presented by ABF Group, the carsales Melbourne EV Show 2023 will be a one-stop shop for everything you need to know about electric vehicles, as well as plug-in hybrids, e-bikes, e-scooters, charging options and accessories.

It will offer show-goers the chance to explore a comprehensive showcase of electrified vehicles, with exhibitors including Audi, FONZ, GWM-Haval, Hyundai, Polestar and even McLaren.

In addition to being the naming sponsor for the three-day event, carsales will present the EV Live Theatre featuring the hosts of our popular Watts Under the Bonnet EV podcast – broadcaster Greg Rust and carsales consumer editor Nadine Armstrong.

The inaugural carsales Melbourne EV Show looms as the popularity of electric cars continues to boom in Australia, where EV sales are up by more than 385 per cent to July this year, following the launch of several key new models.

In the past 12 months, carsales has also seen an 8.2 per cent increase in electric car searches online and 42 per cent of respondents to our recent onsite survey said they have considered purchasing an EV, with 24 per cent saying they believe they’ll be driving an EV by 2030.

There has been considerable growth in the number of electric vehicles available in Australia, where 91 models and 148 variants are currently on offer, and according to the Electric Vehicle Council’s yearly recap there are 83,000 registered EVs on Aussie roads.

Some exciting new models are set to be launched at the event and the growing popularity of EVs demonstrates the importance of providing Australians with a 360-degree view of this fast-charged space.

“We couldn’t have a better naming sponsor in carsales as we present the first national EV auto show in Melbourne,” said ABF Group CEO, Ray Evans.

“The event promises to bring some exciting features including several new EVs launching at the event, new products never before seen in Australia and the impressive Formula E race car.

“We are looking forward to reimagining the EV show with modern eyes and welcoming tens of thousands of EV enthusiasts across the weekend.”

Tickets for the event are now available via Ticketmaster and for more details visit the carsales Melbourne EV Show 2023.
