Isuzu D-MAX warranty upgraded
D-MAX utes get extended five-year warranty matched with five-years free roadside assistanceIsuzu has increased the warranty on its recently-updated D-Max ute range to five years/130,000km, matching warranty leader Mitsubishi.
The new five year/130,000km policy replaces the previous three-year/100,000km warranty and is an indication of Isuzu Ute Australia's (IUA) confidence in the robustness of its vehicles.
"We pride ourselves on building the most durable, reliable and efficient utes in the Australian one-tonne market," said IUA's managing director Yasuhiro Takeuchi.
He said the announcement was a "testament to the immense confidence we have in our engineering," and has backed up the new warranty with a segment-leading roadside assistance package. While Mitsubishi utes offer just one free year of assistance, Isuzu has extended roadside assistance to five-years.
"Our new warranty - supported by an extended Roadside Assistance package - is also a commitment to our future customers that they are investing in a quality product and provides them with absolute peace of mind when it comes to protecting their investment," said Takeuchi-san.
All Isuzu D-Max utes are powered by a 3.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that generates 130kW/380Nm when coupled to a five-speed auto or manual gearbox.
The D-Max ute is offered in single and crew cab body styles, in 4x4 and 4x2 drivelines.
IUA says the warranty is "bumper to bumper" and not just for the engine and gearbox. The Japanese importer also supports fully transferrable warranties if the vehicle is sold to a new owner within the warranty period.
Sales of Isuzu D-Max utes in Australia for 2012 (up to November) represented an increase year on year, compared to 2011, with sales up from 5968 to 7066 - a gain of 18.4 per cent.
The arrival of a new-look D-Max in June 2012 helped increase awareness of the vehicle and the Thai-built vehicle's new warranty won't hurt its appeal in 2013.
Isuzu is also developing a new seven-seat SUV variant based on the D-MAX that should begin production later in the year, codenamed MU-7.
