The Korean manufacturer says its new tyre has been designed so racers can drive their cars to the track and compete without doing much more than check the pressures.
The multi-purpose ECSTA V720 achieves its ambitious goals through a combination of racing and road-going knowhow. It uses racing technology such as an exclusive dynamic sidewall design, a performance-oriented pattern, and a "Super Hard Apex" for cornering grip, along with a wide-shoulder block design and a high-strength carcass to ensure durability and sure-footed handling on and off the racetrack. A high-grip synthetic resin in the compound helps increase grip as tyre temperature rises.
Also featured is an adaptive cooling system, along with "reduced skid sound noise" and an "in-out" tread design that maximises braking performance in wet conditions, where Kumho says the ECSTA V720 excels.
